Elaina Athans Biography

Elaina Athans is an American journalist currently working at ABC 11 Eyewitness News, WTVD, North Carolina as a general assignment reporter since February 2013, and she is thrilled to be part of the most talented news team in the Triangle.

Before joining ABC 11, she served as a lead reporter for YNN Hudson Valley.

She was also a charter member of the startup 24-hour local cable news channel based around an hour north of New York City. Moreover, Athans brought in-depth coverage of the hurricanes Sandy and Irene, as well as the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

Moreover, Elana was invited to travel on an Honor Flight to our nation’s capital along with World War II veterans.

Additionally, she also worked as a news anchor and reporter for a number of TV stations, such as News 12 Long Island, WMDT in Salisbury, Maryland, and also WZBN in Trenton, New Jersey. She attended and graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism
